Meet the Candidates

The following statements have been provided by each candidate

and appear verbatim as submitted.

Candidate for President -- None
We will be electing a President for 2009 as the President-Elect has resigned.  A nomination was not received for this office, so we will rely on write-in votes.

Candidate for President-Elect -- Cynthia Alder, CMT
I have served briefly in the past as President-Elect of TAHDI, and had to resign my position due to illnesses in the family.  I know the challenges today's MTs face in regard to our professional challenges as well as personal and life issues.  Working to advance your career while also raising children or grandchildren, assisting aging parents, and balancing all of our responsibilities can be a difficult task at times.  My goal for TAHDI is to provide industry professionals with resources to continue education, advance their careers, and to provide much-needed support to MTs while educating the public at large about our industry.

Candidate for Secretary -- Lisa Redden
Please vote for me for secretary. I respect the integrity of TAHDI, and I am willing to be devoted to achieving our mission. My goal is for TAHDI to become something MTs across Texas want to be engaged in. The association secretary can be instrumental in the efficiency of the association. I appreciate the time and energy needed for our volunteer positions in TAHDI. My goal is to get more done in less time through competency and decisiveness. I see the BOD meeting minutes as an opportunity to communicate focus and vision.. I welcome the opportunity to discuss my candidacy.

Candidate for Treasurer -- Marge Hulsey
Over the previous years, I have served continuously on committees and officer positions for the Capital Chapter of THDI in addition to holding officer positions to TAMT/THDI.  My involvement in the Capital Chapter and TAMT/THDI is something I cherish and wish to be ongoing for the betterment and aid in areas for which I am qualified and can help with the continued improvement in the role of medical record specialist/transcriptionists integrity throughout the medical field in whatever capacity I am needed with very few exceptions. Having held the position of TAMT treasurer in the past, I am familiar with the duties of this position and would very much like to serve our organizations in this role for 2009.

Candidate for Delegate -- Linda Guillory, CMT, AHDI-F
I would like to be elected Delegate for TAHDI to represent this great state in the AHDI House of Delegates. As a prior Director on the national board, I represented national members-at-large.  That opportunity brought me in contact with many transcriptionists throughout the country.  I enjoyed listening to and discussing their concerns about the future of our organization.  My passion for medical transcription brought me to TAHDI many years ago, and I have held many offices and served on several committees. As much as I embrace the new generation workforce, I do feel that my vast experience in the association at many levels qualifies me to help steer the association in the right direction. Being a delegate is a tremendous responsibility that I feel ready to take on at this time.  Paul and I now have an "empty nest" and my free time is my own. Please give me the opportunity to represent you.
